C-Ring Award Banquet

Aerospace Engineering Chair Awatef Hamed and President Nancy Zimpher.

The C-Ring has been given since 1922 to the outstanding graduating senior women at the University of Cincinnati. Selected by a diverse committee of UC faculty, staff and alumni, this year’s recipient will be announced at the annual dinner on

Saturday, May 19

. UC President Nancy Zimpher will welcome the women, their guests and 2006 C-Ring recipient, Sarah Knight. Knight, a DAAP graduate, will present the 2007 award.

First given by the Athletics Department to the “best all around gal,” the C-Ring evolved over the last 85 years to become an all-university award based on several rigorous criteria. Eligible women must have a minimum 3.4 grade point average and demonstrate a commitment to the betterment of our campus, our community and, in particular, to the advancement of women. The selection committee, in addition to reviewing the application, letters of support and an essay by each applicant, conducts a personal interview before making its final selection.
