Valerie Gray Hardcastle Named Dean of McMicken
Valerie Gray Hardcastle of Virginia Tech has been named dean of McMicken College of Arts and Sciences.
Currently associate dean of the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences at Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University, Hardcastle will replace Karen Gould, who left UC earlier this year to become provost at California State University, Long Beach.
Senior Vice President and Provost Anthony J. Perzigian said, "I am supremely confident that we have recruited an outstanding leader who will be assuming one of UC's most important and influential leadership positions."
Hardcastle is expected to officially begin her tenure at UC on Sept. 4, 2007.
