'Appetite and Consumption' in UC Clermont s Art Gallery

Painter Kelly Jo Asbury brings her exhibit, “Appetite and Consumption” to UC Clermont College’s Art Gallery from Oct. 3- 29.

Asbury earned her master of fine art in painting from the UC College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning in 1997 and her bachelors of fine arts in studio arts from Northern Kentucky University in 1995.

“The conceptual concerns pervading through this series of work I have been building the past three years center around “Appetite and Consumption,” said Asbury.  “These paintings/drawings explore our primordial link to water and our relentless search for one another. Both formally and conceptually the work explores the dichotomy of dry to wet as well as notions of metamorphosis and adaptation as components of insatiable appetites,” she said.

Please join the artist for her reception on Oct. 19 from 6-8 p.m.

Asbury has participated in group exhibits across the country including: Group 10th International Group Exhibition Woman Made Gallery in Chicago, Works on Paper: Borders Thirty-Fifth Annual National Juried Exhibition of Works on Paper Brand Library Art Galleries in Glendale, Calif. Her solo exhibits include shows in Cincinnati’s TuTu Art Gallery and Covington’s Figure of Speech 630 Gallery and Atmosphere.

The Clermont College Art Gallery is sponsored by Park National Bank and located in the Snyder Building on UC Clermont College’s campus in Batavia at 4200 Clermont College Drive. Hours are Monday - Thursday 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The exhibition is free and open to the public.
