UC Clermont Volleyball Team Earns Bid to National Tournament and Clinches 4th Ohio Regional Campus Conference Title

The UC Clermont volleyball team received their second consecutive bid to the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) National Championship Tournament.  The team will travel to Ft. Wayne, Ind. October 25-27 to compete with defending national champion Florida College and six other USCAA programs. This bid follows the team winning the Ohio Regional Campus Conference title this past weekend.

“We achieved the two goals we set at the beginning of the season – the Ohio Regional Campus Conference title and a return to Nationals,” said UC Clermont Cougars Head Coach Joe Harpring.  “I am extremely proud of these players and their dedication to the team.”

Last year, the Cougars finished second in preliminary pool play during the USCAA tournament, and lasted three rounds of the double elimination bracket before finishing fifth.

“We will be facing some high quality teams, but the height we added with our freshmen class plus the experience our returning players gained from last year’s tournament should help us be very competitive,” said Harpring.  “I think our kids will find this trip quite enjoyable and rewarding.”

The 11-5 Cougars clinched their fourth consecutive Ohio Regional Campus Conference title this past weekend.  They have four games remaining in the regular season before traveling to Ft. Wayne.
