Radio Drama Lives! CCM Presents 'The Quest for the Forbidden Chest' April 10-12

Theater of the mind receives a revival at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) this April, when CCM presents the world premiere of the radio drama

"The Quest for the Forbidden Chest."

The drama will be performed live on stage April 10-12 in CCM's Cohen Family Studio Theater. Admission is FREE and open to the public.

Step back to a time when radio drama was king! "The Quest for the Forbidden Chest" harkens back to the glory days of radio storytelling, featuring a family-friendly (yet fractured) fairy tale. This tongue-in-cheek comedy follows a prince and princess who must endure outrageous trials to prove their love and secure their elusive prize: the "Forbidden Chest." The drama will be enacted on stage by student sound effects artists, voice actors and musicians from CCM's Electronic Media, Drama and Performance Studies programs.

The public is invited to get into the act and join the studio audience for these performances, which will be recorded both for future broadcast on 91.7 WVXU and a souvenir DVD. The latter will be made available for sale later this year with proceeds benefiting CCM scholarships.

Admission to "The Quest for the Forbidden Chest" is FREE, but seating is limited and reservations are required. Call 513-556-4183 beginning Monday, April 7 to reserve.
