
WVXU and CCM Host Second Tribute Concert to Oscar Treadwell June 12
Event Update: Due to illness, originally scheduled headliner Fred Hersch will be unable to perform at Thursdays Sweet Love: A Tribute to OT concert at CCMs Corbett Auditorium. However, acclaimed local jazz performer Steve Schmidt will join Freds sidemen Joe Martin and Nasheet Waits for a great night of music benefiting CCMs jazz studies department and jazz on WVXU. Tickets will be available at the door.

at 7:30 p.m. at Corbett Auditorium at UC's College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) and headlining will be acclaimed local jazz artist

performing with the Fred Hersch trio.
Opening for the ensemble will be a student combo from CCM's Jazz Studies Department.
Proceeds from the 2nd Annual Sweet Love: A Tribute to OT Concert will benefit the CCM Jazz Studies Department and WVXU's ongoing effort to keep decades of OT's old shows on the air.
Tickets for Sweet Love: A Tribute to OT Concert are on sale now through the Cincinnati Arts Association: 513-621-ARTS, www.cincinnatiarts.org, and at the Aronoff Center ticket office. General admission tickets are $30 each.

UC College-Conservatory of Music Dean Pete Jutras has announced the appointment of Sam Reenan, PhD, as CCM's new Assistant Professor of Music Theory. CCM welcomes Jessie Grant as Assistant Dean of Student Services

UC College-Conservatory of Music Dean Pete Jutras recently announced the appointment of Jessie L. Grant, PhD, as CCM's new Assistant Dean of Student Services. In this role, Grant will coordinate CCM’s academic advising program, connect students with college and university-level resources, and evaluate CCM policies and processes to better serve the college’s undergraduate and graduate students. Grant's appointment officially began on June 2, 2025.
CCM welcomes new flute faculty member Sooyun Kim

UC College-Conservatory of Music Dean Pete Jutras has announced the appointment of Sooyun Kim as CCM's new Assistant Professor of Flute. Her faculty appointment officially begins on Aug. 15, 2025. Described by the French newspaper Libération as “a rare virtuoso of the flute,” Kim has earned distinction as one of the rare flute soloists on today’s classical music scene. She made her concerto debut at age 10 with the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra and has since appeared with renowned ensembles including the Bavarian Radio Symphony, Munich Philharmonic, Munich Chamber, Boston Pops and KBS Symphony Orchestras. Her recital engagements have taken her to prestigious venues such as Budapest’s Liszt Hall, the Kennedy Center, Helsinki’s Sibelius Academy, Kobe’s Bunka Hall and the Seoul Arts Center. Her European debut recital at the Louvre Museum was broadcast live on medici.tv.
