RWC Professor's Work to Be Shown in Cuba

Patrick Schreiber, an assistant professor of Art & Visual Communication for Raymond Walters College in Blue Ash, is one of nine U.S. designers asked to participate in a poster exhibition and cultural exchange program in Cuba.

The cultural exchange, which is titled "Sharing Dreams: Cuba and the U.S. Cross the Digital Divide," matches American designers with designers in Cuba on a federally-approved research program via the AIGA Center for Cross-Cultural Design (AIGA|XCD).

The poster designs from each of the 18 artists will be exhibited during Centro Pablo de la Torriente Brau’s 10th Anniversary Guitarra Limpia Program at their Majadahonda Gallery in Havana, Cuba, beginning November 19, 2008.

The AIGA Center for Cross-Cultural Design (AIGA|XCD) is an AIGA National Chapter established to foster greater communication between designers across cultures, as well as a better understanding of the interwoven experience of design and culture in human lives.

At RWC, Schreiber teaches courses in graphic design and typography. Professor Schreiber received his BFA from the Art Academy of Cincinnati in Communication Design, an MFA in Graphic Design from Yale University and participated in Post Graduate Studies at the Allgemeine Gewerbeschule, Schule für Gestaltung’s Weiterbildungsklasse für Grafik in Basel, Switzerland.

He has taught previously at the University of Cincinnati’s College of Design, Architecture, Art & Planning (DAAP) in the Graphic Design, Digital Design and Foundations Departments as a Visiting Assistant Professor; also as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Art Academy of Cincinnati and the College of Mount St. Joseph.
