Watch the Inauguration, Then Discuss It
The University of Cincinnati will mark the inauguration of the next U.S. President with opportunities to observe the inauguration from 11:00 a.m. to approximately 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20, followed by a panel discussion on the issues raised in the inaugural speech.
The "Its Your Call: Inaugural Address & Discussion" primary site will be UCs Tangeman University Center, with a live feed from Washington D.C. in the TUC Great Hall and in the MainStreet Cinema. Immediately following the inaugural ceremonies, UC faculty experts will lead a discussion of issues confronting the new administration.
Panelists for the discussion will be Russel Durst, English & Comparative Literature; Rich Harknett, Political Science; Darrell Miller, College of Law; Craig Brammer, College of Medicine and Eric Rademacher, Institute for Policy Research.
The panel discussion will be streamed to the Web by UCit's Instructional & Research Computing Presentation Technologies & Services Group at this URL: http://www.uc.edu/ucvision/event.aspx?eventid=222
The inaugural speech and discussion event is the culmination of "It's Your Call," the non-partisan voter-registration drive led by the UC Student Government Association before the Nov. 4 election. Largely as the result of "It's Your Call," many UC students voted for the first time in the 2008 election.
