College of Law to Host Feb. 4 Program on Judicial Appointment Panels
In the opening weeks of his administration in 2007, Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland took major steps towards improving the administration of justice and building public trust and confidence in Ohio's courts.
The governor's decision that he would create citizen appointment panels to recommend candidates for filling judicial vacancies is a significant reform and welcomed by many. The UC College of Law will be hosting a program to explore this commitment from the governor on Feb. 4, with a special guest of UC College of Law graduate Jeffrey Ruppert, now the governor's deputy legal counsel, who will talk about the inner workings of the Judicial Appointment Panels.
