News from the Aviation Technology Program at Clermont College

Sophie Gilgean soloed in a single-engine aircraft on February 9, 2009. This was Sophie's first flight as a student pilot without her instructor in the aircraft. Sophie is the daughter of Gilgean Philippe and Evelyne Finet of Baudour, Belgium.

Carl Reynolds also soloed in a single-engine aircraft on February 9, 2009 and was his first flight as a student pilot without his instructor in the aircraft. Carl is the son of Debbie Whitlatch of Erlanger, KY.

When they each complete the two-year program through the University of Cincinnati - Clermont College, they will have earned an associate of applied science degree and a commercial pilot certificate.

Both students are enrolled in the Aviation Technology: Professional Pilot Program at the University of Cincinnati - Clermont College. The laboratory portion of the Professional Pilot Program is taught at the Clermont County Airport.
