News from the Aviation Technology Program at Clermont College

Matthew VanCamp soloed in a single-engine aircraft on April 17. This was VanCamp's first flight as a student pilot without his instructor in the aircraft. Matthew is the son of Gary and Susan VanCamp of Milford. When VanCamp completes the two-year program through the University of Cincinnati - Clermont College, he will have earned an associate of applied science degree and a commercial pilot certificate.

Bryan Watson earned his commercial pilot certificate on April 27. With his commercial pilot certificate, Watson is now approved by the Federal Aviation Administration to fly aircraft for compensation. He is the son of Steve and Cindy Watson of Dublin. When he completes the two-year program through the University of Cincinnati - Clermont College, he will have also earned an associate of applied science degree and is considering completing a bachelor's degree in Business Administration at UC.

VanCamp and Watson are both enrolled in the Aviation Technology: Professional Pilot Program at the UC Clermont College. The laboratory portion of the Professional Pilot Program is taught at the Clermont County Airport.
