McGinnis grew up in a family of artists, each using different media. At five years old, she picked up an embroidery needle and floss and has been creating ever since. Later, she took up quilting and eventually learned papermaking and bookmaking. As a self-taught artist, she enjoys the trial and error of combining fabrics and papers with thread, beads and other ephemeral and bringing color to life.
The UC Clermont Art Gallery is sponsored by Park National Bank and is located in the Snyder building on the UC Clermont College campus in Batavia at 4200 Clermont College Drive. Summer gallery hours are Monday - Thursday 7:30 a.m. - 6 p.m., Friday 7:30 a.m.- 5 p.m. The exhibition is free and open to the public.
