Plain Dealer: Editorial Provides Kudos to UC
In a recent Sunday edition, Cleveland's Plain Dealer editorial page provided kudos to UC's College of Law for its work bringing to light how use of DNA as evidence, its storage and the expansion of DNA testing "are matters of life and death."
Today, Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland signed into law a model innocence reform bill that has its roots in the work of nine UC law students, who are part of the Ohio Innocence project at UC. Among the new law's requirements is the preservation of DNA evidence in all cases of serious crime, such as homicide and sexual assault.
