Jintai Ding to Present Sigma Xi Lecture on June 3

UC's Sigma Xi Young Faculty Research Lecture is scheduled for Thursday, June 3, at 11 a.m. in Room 427 of Tangeman University Center. The event is part of the 2010 Undergraduate Research Week.

The winner of this year's award is UC Professor of Mathematical Sciences Jintai Ding. Ding, an expert in cryptography, will present "Does IT Really Make The World More Secure?: Security in the Ubiquitous Computing World and the Importance of Multivariate Public Key Cryptography."

Ding's lecture is open to the entire university community, and is billed as a general audience lecture that will explain some of the mysteries behind the cryptography that protects our electronic information.
