Fire Drills in University Buildings Begin on June 14
Changes in the Ohio Fire Code mandate that annual fire drills are required in the majority of university buildings. The first of those drills will be conducted by UC Public Safety on Monday, June 14, with the schedule running throughout the rest of the summer.
Drills will be run between the hours of 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., except on Wednesdays, when they will be conducted between 1 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. The schedule is tentative, with drills rescheduled in cases of inclement weather.
Buildings that will have fire drills during the first week of the program include:
- Monday, June 14: Engineering Research Center, Lindner Hall, Blegen Library
- Tuesday, June 15: McMicken Hall, University Pavilion, Van Wormer Hall, Teachers College, Dyer Hall
- Wednesday, June 16: Make-up rain date, if necessary
- Thursday, June 17: Sander Annex, French Hall West, Steger Student Life Center, Swift Hall
- Friday, June 18: Baldwin Hall, Rhodes Hall, Zimmer Auditorium
