UC College of Law This Week Welcomes Class of 2013
The University of Cincinnati College of Law welcomed an incoming class of 144 new students today. Second-and third-year students will begin classes on Aug. 23.
The year 2010 marks the 178th year for the UC College of Law, the fourth-oldest law school in the country. The law school is described as a premier, small, urban public institution. Among its famous alumni are U.S. President William Howard Taft; William Billy Martin, who was former NFL quarterback Michael Vicks attorney in the dogfighting scandal; and Sharon Zealey, senior litigation counsel for the Coca-Cola Company.
UCs College of Law Class of 2013 is represented by four countries the United States, China, Nigeria and Germany, as well as 26 U.S. states. The average age is 24.
Sixty-one percent of the College of Law Class of 2013 is male and 39 percent is female. Twenty-one percent of the class reflects a minority group; seven percent is African-American. Theyre alumni of 74 undergraduate institutions.
Fifty percent of the Class of 2013 is from Ohio; eight percent represent Indiana and four percent represent Kentucky.
The 2010-11 academic year for the UC College of Law runs through May 14, 2011, when the college hosts its annual Hooding Ceremony, a graduation celebration for the College of Laws Class of 2011.
