UC Joins Top 200 World Universities
The University of Cincinnati has been ranked among the top 200 universities in the world by Times Higher Education magazine. UC is ranked 190th among all universities, 69th among United States universities, and 28th among U.S. public universities.
The influential Times Higher Education magazine, based in London, England, reports on news and issues related to higher education. Since their first appearance in 2004, the global university rankings have been recognized as the most authoritative source of broad comparative performance information on universities across the world.
We would like to congratulate The University of Cincinnati for its performance in this years rigorous rankings. Being ranked 190 in the world top 200 is an impressive achievement, said Ann Mroz, editor of the Times Higher Education magazine. The top 200 universities in the world represent only a tiny fraction of world higher education and any institution that makes it into this table is truly world class.
Times Higher Education magazine published its 2010-11 World University Rankings using a sophisticated new methodology. The magazine claims the new methodology constitutes the most detailed, rigorous and comprehensive study of global university performance ever undertaken.
This newest ranking joins several others recent achieved by the University of Cincinnati:
The University of Cincinnati is among the Americas Best National Universities, according to U.S. News & World Report, and UC's reputation is rising. The 2011 issue of the magazines influential Best Colleges guide ranks the University of Cincinnati 156th among the top tier of national universities.
For the fourth year in a row, the University of Cincinnati is listed among the Princeton Reviews best institutions for an undergraduate education. The University of Cincinnati is among the nations best institutions for a college education, according to The Princeton Reviews 2011 edition of its annual college guide, The Best 373 Colleges. Only about 15 percent of the nations four-year colleges are featured in the book, which is the Princeton Reviews flagship college guide.
In March, Forbes magazine named UC among the world's most beautiful college campuses. Others making that short list were Oxford University in England as well as Princeton University, Stanford University, Yale University, and the University of Virginia.
