UC Clermont s Lauren Bradford USCAA Player of the Week

UC Clermont volleyball player Lauren Bradford has been named United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) National Player of the Week for the period Aug. 29 – Sept. 4.  The award is the first issued by the USCAA for the 2010 season.

Bradford is a junior setter/outside hitter from Norwood High School.  In a two-match sweep of the UC Clermont Volleyfest that week, Bradford recorded 11 kills, 24 assists, 8 service aces, 9 digs and 3 blocks while recording an outstanding .830 hitting percentage.  This marks the third national award won by Bradford in her three years at UC Clermont.

Next up for the Cougars is the Cougar Classic on Sunday, Sept. 19 beginning at 11 a.m. at the Student Activities Center on campus. The Cougars will host the UC Clermont Volley for a Cure as part of their annual classic.  The event will be a fundraiser for breast cancer research.

Ohio Collegiate Athletic Conference (OCAC) rivals and title contenders Clark State Community College and Ohio State University-Marion will provide the opposition in a tri-match format.
