Oct. 27: Mark Your Calendars for President's Address and All-University Faculty Meeting, Workshop

President Gregory H. Williams will present his first State of the University Address, during the Fall 2010 All-University Faculty Meeting. The event will take place from

3 to 5 p.m., on Wednesday, October 27, 2010

, in the Great Hall at Tangeman University Center. The entire campus community is invited to attend.

President Williams’ address, at approximately 3:20 p.m., will lead off an interactive segment of the meeting, resting on a faculty-led workshop with small-group, roundtable discussions focused on the role of faculty in the UC2019 strategic plan’s operational principles and core values. During the workshop portion of the meeting, each table will have a “facilitator/recorder” to collect input, which will then be provided as a component of Provost Santa Ono’s Academic Master Plan phase 1 working group effort.

At 5 p.m., the meeting will close with a reception that will then lead to the inaugural Faculty/Staff Art Show Auction in support of the endowment for the Faculty Award for Exemplary Contributions in Service. The full agenda of the All-University Faculty meeting is as follows:

  • Approval of modified agenda of order of business
  • Approval of the Minutes of the May 2010 All-University Faculty Meeting
  • Necrology
  • New Business
  • Proposed University Faculty Bylaw Changes due to Semester Conversion
  • Nominations for Grievance Committee expansion
  • Presidential Address, Dr. Gregory H. Williams, President, University of Cincinnati, followed by question-and-answer.
  • Accelerating Our Transformation Workshop (Facilitator, Richard J. Harknett, Chair of the University Faculty)
  • New Business from the Floor 
  • Adjournment

Putting it all together: The UC Nursing capstone experience

Whether focused on improving patient outcomes, enhancing nursing workflows, promoting professional development, or impacting community health, the capstone project challenges students to think critically, act creatively and demonstrate their readiness to enter the nursing profession.
