UC Clermont Students Digital Photographs Featured in Multimedia Show in the Park National Bank Art Gallery
UC Clermont students are featuring their digital photographs in the Multimedia Show in the Park National Bank Art Gallery from January 11-24.
The show features the work of 23 talented students in the autumn quarter of the Digital Photography Course, taught by Andy Curran, associate professor of Interactive Multimedia Technology.
Students learned three areas of modern digital photography: intermediate-level photo editing and enhancing techniques using Adobe Photoshop CS5, proper use of a digital camera (including how settings are used), and photo composition (how to position and stage objects in the frame).
Each student had two projects to complete. First, each was required to shoot and frame a single photo using only the camera settings to achieve their effects. No Photoshop was used for this project. They were also required to shoot, compose and frame a montage of at least two photos, using Photoshop to enhance the montage.

"With the digital camera becoming more popular than ever, students from many academic programs take this course, not just interactive multimedia majors. Even though this is the first formal course for many of the students, the gallery show once again demonstrates a high level of talent and creativity. By showcasing their work in the gallery, they get a real sense of ownership and satisfaction," said Curran.
The Park National Bank Art Gallery is located in the Snyder building on the UC Clermont College campus in Batavia at 4200 Clermont College Drive. Gallery hours are Monday-Thursday 7:30 a.m. 7 p.m., Friday 7:30 a.m. 5 p.m., and Saturday 8:30 a.m. 12 p.m. and closed Sundays. The exhibition is free and open to the public.
