WEDNESDAY: 'The Future of Neuroscience'

The UC NeuroSociety and the University of Cincinnati Neuroscience Institute are presenting a lecture by two renowned neuroscientists on Wed., Feb. 9.

"The Future of Neuroscience: A UCNI Perspective" will feature John Tew, professor of neurosurgery in UC's College of Medicine, and Anya Sanchez, UCNI administrative director.

John Tew is a Professor and former chair of the Department of Neurosurgery at the University of Cincinnati, and is the co-founder and clinical director of the University of Cincinnati Neuroscience Institute. He has been at the forefront of many technological innovations in neurosurgery and neurology, and has received many awards and honors. He is an active philanthropist and has recently been named a Great Living Cincinnatian by the Cincinnati Regional Chamber.

Anya Sanchez is the administrative director for the University of Cincinnati Neuroscience Institute (UCNI) at UC Health University Hospital where she manages the institute’s day-to-day operations. Though her career as a physician and consultant, she has developed strategic plans and implemented tactics for multiple service lines and across entire hospitals and regional health systems. She earned her BA from Miami University, an MD from The University of Toledo and her Master of Business Administration from Georgetown University, in Washington, D.C.
