March 1, 2011: Law School Presents Lynn Stout, the 2011 Stanley M. Chesley Visiting Professor Lecture
Professor Stout will lecture on Cultivating Conscience: How Good Laws Make Good People. Professor Stout will analyze the influence of economic theory on legal thinking and the creation of legislation. She will also discuss how the legal system can use social cues that promote conscientious behavior to craft better laws and provide encouragement to more unselfish, ethical behavior in many areas, including politics and business. March 3, 2011: College of Law Hosts Judge-in-Residence the Hon. Wilhelmina M. Wright
The Honorable Wilhelmina M. Wright of the Minnesota Court of Appeals will present the lecture Ethical Considerations and Professionalism in ADR and Pro Bono Representation. Judge Wright will discuss challenges and changes to the justice system based upon the growing reliance on strategies such as mediation and arbitration, and what that means for the courts.
