'U.S. News & World Report' Ranks UC College of Business as a Best Business School
U.S. News & World Report released its annual ranking of graduate programs on March 15, 2011. Once again, the UC College of Business has made the top 100, ranking 75th out of the top MBA programs in the country. The University of Cincinnati ranked 37th out of all public institutions and 6th out of the 16 schools in the Big East.
Recognizing the important role that part-time programs play in the lives of working professionals, U.S. News ranked UC's part-time MBA program 93rd out of the top 138 part-time MBA programs.
We are honored that U.S. News recognizes the top-quality graduate business education UC provides, says Dean David M. Szymanski. We teach our students to connect research to reality, making our MBA graduates competitive in todays marketplace.
Methodology
For the full-time ranking, all 437 masters programs in business accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International were surveyed in fall 2010 and early 2011. Of the 398 who responded, 142 provided the data needed to calculate rankings based on a weighted average of the following indicators:
- Peer assessment score
- Recruiter assessment score
- Placement success
- Mean starting salary and bonus
- Employment rates for full-time master's program graduates
- Student selectivity
- Mean GMAT scores
- Mean undergraduate GPA
- Acceptance rate
U.S. News's part-time MBA ranking is based solely on a fall 2010 peer assessment survey that asked business school deans and MBA program directors at each of the nation's 295 part-time MBA programs to rate all the other part-time programs on a 5-point scale, with 1 marginal and 5 outstanding. Forty-one percent of those surveyed responded. Programs were ranked based on their average peer assessment score. U.S.News defines a part-time MBA program as being at an AACSB-accredited school with at least 20 students enrolled part time in both fall 2009 and fall 2010.
