DAAP Students Co-op at HGTV

Cassie Reed and Carol Schoenfield, two students from the University of Cincinnati’s

nationally No. 1 ranked

interior design program, part of the School of Architecture and Interior Design in the College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning (DAAP), recently had a working quarter co-op with HGTV (Home & Garden Television).

Co-op, or

cooperative education

, is the practice wherein students alternate quarters or semesters in the classroom with quarters or semesters of professionally paid work. Co-op had its global founding at UC in 1906, and UC co-op is ranked in the nation’s top ten by U.S. News & World Report. Most programs in DAAP require co-op, allowing students to graduate with about 18 months of paid, professional experience.

While on their respective co-ops with HGTV, Schoenfield and Reed each created interactive interior design displays for the HGTV headquarters in Knoxville, Tenn.
