Rachel Hays Named USCAA Player of the Week
UC Clermont volleyball player Rachel Hays, a junior middle hitter from Amelia High School, was named the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) National Player of the Week for the period September 4-10, 2011.
In four road matches during this week, Hays tallied 44 kills, 11 solo blocks, 10 block assists, 10 service aces and registered a red hot .449 hitting percentage. Her performance helped the Cougars win all four contests, improve their overall record to 9-1 and up their Ohio Collegiate Athletic Conference (OCAC) record to 2-0.
UC Clermont ranks 5th in the nation in the first USCAA Coaches Poll released this week. The Cougars return to action Friday with an important OCAC road contest against early co-leader Ohio Christian University. Clermont returns home Sunday to host their annual
