Ailing UC Employee Seeks Assistance through Leave Donation Program

The following information comes from Elizabeth Aumann, Director of Benefits, UC’s Human Resources Department.

UC faculty and staff are encouraged to consider donating vacation time under the UC Leave Donation policy to help co-workers ease the strain of time off work without pay due to a serious health condition.

Stephanie Rice, Research Asst/Assoc from the UC College of Medicine, has been with the university since February 1, 2008. She has been off work due to a serious health condition since August, 2011.

A donor may donate between one (1) and forty (40) hours of vacation time but must retain at least 240 hours of combined leave (sick, vacation and comp time) after the donation. The names of the donors will be held confidential and will not be disclosed to the recipient or their department.
