'Pronect' by Christopher Land Featured in the Park National Bank Art Gallery

Pronect

by Christopher Land will be featured as a solo exhibit in the Park National Bank Art Gallery at UC Clermont College beginning December 2 through January 5, 2012.

Land is a painter, with a master’s of fine arts degree from UC’s College of Design, Architecture, Art and Planning and a bachelor’s of fine arts degree from the Herron School of Art and Design, Indiana University-Perdue University Indianapolis, and is currently an Adjunct Professor of Art at UC Clermont College.

Land begins his paintings with aimless playful mark-making, exploring the possibilities of the oil paint itself.  He allows the image to develop slowly using an intuitive process where each layer of paint refines the image more and more until there is a finished painting.  “I want each painting to be initially striking, but also a complicated image that takes time to digest,” says Land.

The Park National Bank Art Gallery is located in the Snyder building on the UC Clermont College campus in Batavia at 4200 Clermont College Drive.  Gallery hours are Monday-Thursday 7:30 a.m. – 7 p.m., Friday 7:30 a.m. – 5 p.m. and Saturday 8:30 a.m. – 12 p.m.  The gallery is closed on Sundays.  The exhibition is free and open to the public.
