Fine Art Alum Builds Entrepreneurial Business: Creating Custom-Wood Panels for iPhones

JackBacks, which provides custom-wood iPhone backs to a smart-phone generation, is the entrepreneurial brainchild of young fine art alum Adam Baumgartner.

The custom panels have made headlines on techie websites Mashable and Gizmodo and have been sold to MTV execs, and . Wired Magazine invited Baumgartner to the Comic-Con 2011 convention to display and market the panels.

Free Wi-Fi, work area coming to Greater Cincinnati

St. Lawrence Park in Price Hill now has free Wi-Fi and a furnished outdoor space for community members to access digital needs. The space is part of The Nodes Project, which stands for “Neighborhoods of Design Engagement": a collaboration between UC DAAP communication designers and community entities.
