UC Clermont English Faculty Honored for Creative Work
Three English faculty at UC Clermont College have been honored recently for their creative writing work.

) has been nominated by Editor J.P. Dancing Bear for a Pushcart Prize. The Pushcart Prize - Best of the Small Presses series - published every year since 1976, is the most honored literary project in America. Hundreds of presses and thousand of writers of short stories, poetry and essays have been represented in the pages of the Pushcart annual collections.
Joel Peckham, assistant professor of English, has received two recent accolades for his work. His essay, "Please Take What You Want," was listed as a "Notable Essay" in
Best American Essays 2011
, edited by Edwidge Dandicot. His recent book,
Resisting Elegy: On Grief and Recovery
, was a finalist for the New Rivers MVP prize and will appear in hardcover from Academy Chicago Publishers this spring. The book reviews include this: Joel Peckhams

Mike Hampton, visiting assistant professor of English, has recently had his work nominated for inclusion in the anthology
Best American Short Stories 2012
