Feb. 24 Deadline for UC Diversity Ambassador Award Nominations
Nominations are now being sought for the annual UC Marian Spencer Diversity Ambassador Award. This award is sponsored by the UC Diversity Council to recognize those individuals and groups whose work and efforts in the many areas of diversity have positively impacted our university. Faculty, staff and students are encouraged to submit nominations by the Feb. 24 deadline. The recipients of the award will be honored at the UC Diversity Conference on April 18. UC’s College of Arts and Sciences (A&S) invites the university community to the Discovery in Action Showcase, a celebration of the innovative achievements that define the college. On November 7, 2024, from 3 to 7 pm, the Discovery in Action Showcase will take place in TUC Great Hall. A&S faculty, students, and research centers will gather to demonstrate how they bring the college’s new slogan, Discovery in Action, to life through their work. The event is free and open to students, alumni, faculty, and staff. Attendees will have the chance to learn about ground-breaking research, experience first-hand all new VR developments, network with colleagues and professionals across the university, and preview renderings of the Old Chem renovation while enjoying complimentary sweets and swag.
CCM Cello student advances in Naumburg Competition

Each year, hundreds of applicants from around the world vie for a chance to compete in the prestigious Naumburg Competition. Current CCM freshman Miriam K. Smith, a student of CCM Professor Alan Rafferty, has qualified to compete among some of the best cellists from around the world in the 2024 International Cello Competition, which takes place October 15-20 in New York City. At just 17, Smith is the youngest of the 39 competitors.
UC named among nation's best schools for male nursing students

The University of Cincinnati (UC) College of Nursing has received the American Association for Men in Nursing (AAMN) 2024 Best Schools for Men in Nursing Award. A fourth-time award recipient, UC College of Nursing was unanimously approved for this honor and is one of only 17 schools of nursing nationwide honored for efforts to recruit and retain men in nursing.
