Goshen Standout Signs with UC Clermont Volleyball Team
The UC Clermont volleyball team has added some exceptional height and talent for 2012. Kiley Collins, a 60 middle hitter from Goshen High School, is the latest player to join the Cougars for the upcoming season.
Collins comes to UC Clermont College after an outstanding career at Goshen. She played three years on Coach Lisa Smiths Warrior varsity and earned numerous awards during that period. Collins was named to the Southwestern Ohio Volleyball Coaches Association (SWOVBCA) District 16 All-City Second Team and to the Cincinnati Enquirer All-City Honorable Mention team in 2011. She earned First Team honors in the Southern Buckeye Conference in 2011 and Second Team honors in 2010. In addition, she led her team in kills, blocks and aces during her senior campaign.
To aid her rapid development in the sport, Collins played three years of Junior Olympic volleyball with the Cincy Peppers Volleyball Club.
Collins not only excelled on the volleyball court at Goshen, but also in the classroom. She made the SWOVBCA District 16 All-Academic Team in 2011 and earned Goshens Scholar/Athlete award during all four of her high school years. She is also president of her schools French Club.
Kiley has made tremendous strides in her game over the years I have watched her play, said UC Clermont Head Coach Joe Harpring. She really blossomed as a player during her senior year. She has gained so much confidence in her ability and added quite a bit of power to her attack. We are getting a talented athlete and a quality young person.
