UC Students Make Strong Pitch at Cardinal Business Plan Competition

University of Cincinnati students Pooja Kadambi, MSE ’12, Ron Meyers, MS ’12, Joe Lovelace, CEAS ’11, and Aaron Kurosu, DAAP ’11, co-founders of Ischiban Neural Engineering Systems, were among 12 semi-finalist teams in the 2012 Brown-Forman Cardinal Challenge Business Plan Competition at the University of Louisville on February 17 and 18, 2012.

Ischiban Neural Engineering Systems, a developer of neural based systems for electrical technology applications in the medical (stroke detection), participated as a new venture team in a high-energy opening round of this year’s Cardinal Challenge. The Cardinal Challenge is a prestigious competition with real-world opportunities and consequences designed to stimulate and reward innovative thinking and entrepreneurial persistence.

Ischiban’s first products, Neuro-SensorTM and its accompanying Neuro-ControllerTM, are focused on the nexus of software and hardware needed to significantly shorten the time needed to detect stroke.

“Our technology and software move the standard of care into the field for earlier diagnoses,” Lovelace says.

Next up for the Ischiban team, the University of Cincinnati Spirit of Enterprise Graduate Business Plan Competition hosted by Cincom Systems, Inc. February 23 and 24, 2012.
