UC Clermont Organizes Effort to Help Bring Donations to Tornado Victims in Clermont County
UC Clermont College is collecting donations for tornado victims throughout the week from faculty, staff and students to distribute to area agencies and will be dropping them off at various locations that are serving as distribution centers.
The Clermont College family wants to assist their neighbors in their time of need in our county. We are encouraging our faculty, staff and students to help where they can, said Dean Greg Sojka.
I am grateful that the college will be able to muster important support to help those in our community who were so badly impacted by the storm, said Barbara Wallace UC Clermonts director of service learning. Wallace communicated with the college community on Saturday alerting them to the immediate needs of the tornado victims and is continuing to funnel requests from various organizations.
The college will place donation boxes around campus for dropping off items. The following is needed:
Items in need:
Trash bags, trash cans, brooms, buckets, sponges, paper towels, toilet paper, disinfectant, new towels, blankets and pillows.

Also, please consider the many area food pantries which will surely need extra donations for the long haul. (Dollars stretch much farther than non-perishable food products because of the purchase power of food banks.)
For those who want to volunteer to help in the areas affected by the tornadoes in the southern part of the county, you can call (513) 641-6082. This is where all volunteer coordination will take place.
