UC's Clermont and Blue Ash Plan Celebrations of Collaborative Bachelor's Degree
Events are being planned at UCs Clermont College and Blue Ash College to celebrate the collaboration on the Bachelor of Applied Administration that was launched in the fall of 2011.
This is our first home-grown bachelors degree, said UC Clermont Dean Greg Sojka. It came about through an extensive collaborative effort between the two regional colleges, faculty, staff and deans all coming together in an effort to bring this new degree to our students at the two regional colleges Clermont and Blue Ash, said Sojka.
Were excited about this collaboration as it is truly a benefit to the students and to the Greater Cincinnati region, said UC Blue Ash Dean Cady Short-Thompson. The program is a wonderful bridge for those with work experience to obtain a bachelors degree without losing credits from their associates degree and the knowledge the students are obtaining through the program will enhance and supplement the technical skills they already possess.
The celebration events will take place at UC Blue Ash College on Wednesday, March 28 from 4-6 p.m. in the Science & Allied Health Building, Room 100 and at UC Clermont College on Thursday, March 29 from 4-6 p.m. in the Student Lounge Area at the UC East Campus. A short program will begin at 4:30 p.m. All are welcome to attend.
The Applied Administration program is designed for people who already hold a technical associate degree, such as an Associate of Applied Science or an Associate of Applied Business (from a regionally accredited institution). It's an ideal opportunity for students who want to take the next step in their professional career by fulfilling the course requirements necessary to complete a bachelor's degree giving them the edge to move into a supervisory or administrative position.
