Faculty/Staff Campaign: Unique Challenge Motivates Participation in Biological Sciences
In the past few years, the landscape of fundraising has changed dramatically. There has been an influx of technology into the field and a recession that changed the way most people view philanthropy. However, through these trials and tribulations one strategy has remained effective people will almost always contribute to a cause if they are properly motivated.
For the faculty and staff of the Department of Biological Sciences, newly appointed Department Head Dr. Ken Petren is providing that motivation through a unique and slightly unorthodox challenge.
If the department can reach 100% participation in this years Faculty/Staff Campaign, Ken has agreed to put a new twist on an old classic. In collaboration with the NESCent Evolution Video Contest, Ken has pledged to deliver a 3-minute taped lecture on the wonders of co-evolution, while dressed to the nines as the Red Queen from Lewis Carolls Through the Looking Glass. This taped production would subsequently be entered in the video contest and made available for use in classes and other events.
Dr. Petren was even nice enough to
in support of his verbal commitment.
So please, if you are an employee of BioSci or if you have friends in the department, do you part to stress the importance of this cause! Make a gift by
