History Professor to Host Bus Tour of Civil War Sites

In recognition of the 150th anniversary of the Civil War, history professor Christopher Phillips will host a roundtrip motorcoach tour of famous sites and battlefields from that era. Phillips will provide historical context as you visit Ford’s Theatre in Washington, D.C.; Gettysburg National Military Park in Pennsylvania; and many other must-see sightseeing destinations.

Phillips’ expert commentary will cover events beginning with abolitionist John Brown’s raid at Harper’s Ferry, W.Va., in 1859 to John Wilkes Booth’s capture and death after his assassination of President Abraham Lincoln in 1865.
