Theatre Camp Offered at UC Clermont's Calico Children's Theatre

The Calico Children’s Theatre with the Missoula Children’s Theatre (MCT) will provide a fun and engaging theatre camp from June 11-16 at UC Clermont College.

MCT is the premier internationally-renowned touring children’s theatre program whose mission is to provide the development of life skills through participation in the performing arts.  Scripts are structured specifically for the tour’s short rehearsal period, and recognize the needs of the individual child.  Major roles are large, complex and challenging; ensemble parts emphasize unison songs, actions and movements.  No prior experience is needed.  There is an audition process.  Every child selected at the audition to be a camper will have a part in the production.

The campers will present Jack and the Beanstalk, a fully staged musical for young actors in grades K-12 (kindergartners must be entering first grade in the fall of 2012) at the UC Clermont College, Krueger Auditorium located at 4200 Clermont College Dr., in Batavia.

Auditions will be held on Monday, June 11, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. with check in 9:30-10 a.m. at the UC Clermont College campus, Krueger Auditorium.  The theatre camp will culminate into two performances, open to the camper’s family members and the general public on Saturday, June 16 at 3 p.m. and again at 7 p.m.

Registration for the audition process is now open.  The cost of camp is $110 for those selected at the audition process to participate in the camp.  For complete details or to register online, visit http://www.ucclermont.edu/community_arts/CalicoTheatreCamp.html or contact Community Arts at (513) 558-1215.
