UC s Criminal Justice Society Hosts 'Demonstration Day' on May 23
The student-led UC Criminal Justice Society (CJS) presents the third-annual
Demonstration Day from noon-2 p.m., Wednesday, May 23, on McMicken Commons.
The event is free and open to the public.
Demonstration Day will feature a look at the special service divisions of UC Police and the Cincinnati Police Department. The event, led by UC Police Captain Rodney Chapman and Cincinnati Police Captain Dan Gerard, will include the SWAT van, Cincinnati Police Mounted Patrol, Cincinnati Police Canine Unit, Bomb Squad, Traffic Investigation Unit and Segway patrols.
The UC School of Criminal Justice is very proud of the relationship we have with the UC Police and the Cincinnati Police Departments. These agencies work extremely hard to keep our community safe, and have many interesting services available to them. We want all of the UC Community to be aware of the fine officers and services these agencies provide to us, says Sue Bourke, director of undergraduate studies for the School of Criminal Justice and faculty advisor for CJS.
The Criminal Justice Society organizes a variety of criminal justice-related events, including career fairs, guest speakers, prison tours and other activities that help build stronger relationships between students and faculty. The CJS promotes and assists criminal justice majors looking for job opportunities, career information and learning opportunities.
