'Partnering with the Shadow' by Mary Woodworth featured in Park National Bank Art Gallery
Partnering with the Shadow by Mary Woodworth will be featured in the Park National Bank Art Gallery at UC Clermont College from June 12 July 6. An opening reception will be held on Thursday, June 14, 6-8 p.m. The exhibition and reception are free and open to the public.
Woodworth has a bachelors degree in art education and a masters degree in art education from the University of Cincinnati. She has been a dancer for 23 years, a poet for 17 years and a visual artist for most of her life. Woodworth began working with lino-prints in 1991.
The current series is both an investigation of poetry in visual form and a study of the fluid dance-like movement of narrative. I find that working with images in linoleum is reminiscent of the process of working images into a poetic structure, said Woodworth.
The Park National Bank Art Gallery is located in the Snyder building on the UC Clermont College campus in Batavia at 4200 Clermont College Drive. Summer gallery hours are Monday and Tuesday 8 a.m. 6 p.m., Wednesday and Thursday 8 a.m. 5 p.m. and Friday 8 a.m. 4 p.m. The gallery is closed on the weekends.
