UC Clermont's Ed Bridgeman Honored with Clermont County Leadership Award

The Clermont County Chamber of Commerce held the 19th annual Salute to Leaders awards this spring to honor non-elected individuals who have made significant contributions to their communities.

Associate Professor Ed Bridgeman earned the William H. Over Award this year for his impact on the criminal justice community. Bridgeman serves as the chair of the criminal justice department at UC Clermont and also is responsible for the successful police academy program at the college.

The awards program included nominees from the Clermont County Chamber, local business owners, community leaders and their peers. The final award of the evening was the William H. Over Leadership Award, the highest award presented at the banquet named after William Over for his dedication to Clermont County.

“William Over Leadership Award – There is no person in Clermont County whose leadership has had such a great impact on the criminal justice community as Ed Bridgeman. Not only is he the chair of the criminal justice department at UC Clermont since 1992, but he also is responsible for the police academy program, which has turned out many, many of the police officers and deputies working here in the county. Both these programs are highly respected and graduates are much sought after. He has made the programs relevant to rural and suburban law enforcement. We have better prepared police officers.” – The Community Press Editorial Blog

“Without people like you, our communities would not be how they are,” State Representative Danny Bubp said about the award winners.
