Carl H. Lindner College of Business Welcomes Indian Ambassador
Nirupama Rao, the Indian ambassador to the US, will be a guest speaker at the Lindner College of Business Thursday, July 12 at 2 p.m. in room 112. The event is free and open to the public.
Rao will share her thoughts with faculty and students in a talk on economic, diplomatic and security goals between the two nations.
Shell also meet with UC President Gregory H. Williams, as well as other UC officials, and with the India Cincinnati Sister City Association of Greater Cincinnati to celebrate Cincinnatis latest sister city relationship with Mysore, India. The new international relationship will be signed in Cincinnati City Hall on July 11, 2102, with a goal of promoting mutual cultural understandings between the two cities. Mysore will be the eighth sister city of Cincinnati.
Rao, whose diplomatic career has spanned three decades, has served as Ambassador of India to the US since August 2011. A member Indias foreign service, she has served as Indias first woman ambassador to China. She also served as an ambassador to Peru, Bolivia and Sri Lanka. Shes held several leadership roles in Indias foreign service, including foreign secretary of India (head of Indian foreign service) and high commissioner in Sri Lanka.
