Annual All-University Memorial Service Set for April 10

The University of Cincinnati annual memorial service is set from

11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 10

, in the Great Hall, Tangeman University Center.

This is the eighth year for the tradition and serves as an occasion for the campus to come together as a community to honor and mourn those who have passed away in the past year. This year’s service will honor 23 students and six faculty and staff.

The service honors deceased students, staff and faculty who were employed or enrolled since last spring. In addition, the ceremony recalls those emeriti and former faculty, staff and students whose passing became known to the university in the past year.

Opening remarks will be made by Daniel Cummins, assistant dean in student affairs.  Student Body President Lane Hart will also speak, and the closing will be provided by UC President Santa Ono.

The ceremony ends with a moment of silence, followed by the chiming of the TUC bells in honor of each of those memorialized at the ceremony.

With a visitor’s pass obtained at the ceremony, free parking is available in the College-Conservatory of Music Garage for family members and other attendees who are not members of the university community.
