MIT Professor to Present at UC on National Air Transportation System

The University of Cincinnati Carl H. Lindner College of Business presents the

22nd Annual E. Leonard Arnoff Memorial Lecture

on the practice of management science.

The lecture begins at 7 p.m., Thursday, April 11, at the Lindner College of Business' Robert and Rose Fealy Auditorium, Room 112, in the Carl H. Lindner Hall on UC’s campus.

Cynthia Barnhart – Ford Professor of Engineering and associate dean of the MIT School of Engineering, and professor of civil and environmental engineering and engineering systems director of Transportation at MIT – is the guest speaker. Her talk is titled “Congestion and Delays in the National Air Transpiration System.”

The Transportation at MIT initiative is a coordinated effort at MIT to address the pressing challenge of meeting the ever-increasing demand for transportation. The lecture quantifies flight and passenger delays and estimates the contribution to delays of airline competition, as well as examines strategies and policies to reduce flight delays and improve airline profits.

The event is sponsored by the Department of Operations, Business Analytics and Information Systems in the Lindner College of Business, its Alumni Board of Governors, the Cincinnati/Dayton Institute for Operations Research and Management Science (INFORMS) chapter and the UC INFORMS student chapter.
