Carl H. Lindner College of Business Analytics Summit Brings Renowned Thought Leader to UC

The

UC Center for Business Analytics

will host a day-long analytics conference to help professionals use analytics to improve business operations.

The Analytics Summit 2013 event will be from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on Friday, May 31, at Tangeman University Center on UC's West Campus.

Tom Davenport

is the keynote speaker. A renowned thought leader, Davenport helped hundreds of companies worldwide to revitalize their management practices. Davenport has written or co-authored 14 books, including several firsts in big data and analytics, business process re-engineering, knowledge management and the business use of enterprise systems.

His concept of big data and analytics as a competitive differentiator, initially introduced in a Harvard Business Review (HBR) article, "Competing on Analytics," has been recognized by HBR editors as one the most important management ideas of the past decade and remains one of HBR’s 10 must-read articles in that magazine’s 90-year history.

The

Analytics Summit 2013

also includes full-day specialized analytics tracks on consumer/retail analytics, finance and insurance analytics, health care analytics, human resources analytics, and supply chain and logistics analytics.

Each track features industry professionals and their use of analytics to improve operations, generate additional revenues and gain competitive advantage. Track speakers currently include representatives from Procter & Gamble, Fifth Third Bank, Kroger Co. , dunnhumby USA, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, Humana, Great American Insurance, American Modern Insurance, IBM, Mercer and more.
