Students from Helsinki, Finland, Visit the University of Cincinnati
Fourteen students and their professor from the Manufacturing Technology Club, Aalto University, Helsinki, Finland, visited businesses in Cincinnati as well as the University of Cincinnati Aug. 26-27.
This student club consists of students in their final year of studies working on their masters degree in production technology and industrial economy. The club has been in existence for 45 years and encourages cooperation between school/lab staff members, corporations and students.
This year members have planned a three week excursion to the United States which includes visits to Chicago, Cincinnati and Dallas. While in Cincinnati, the group visited Mazak Corporation and Intelligrated, both manufacturing engineering companies and partners of UC's Division of Professional Practice & Experiential Learning (ProPEL). The students also had the opportunity visit UC, where they toured the campus, Division of Professional Practice & Experiential Learning, the College of Engineering & Applied Science (CEAS) engineering labs, and the College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning (DAAP) rapid prototyping lab.
