The Taft Center was established to support and enhance both interdisciplinary and disciplinary work committed to the development of ideas and critical thinking. To this end, the Taft Center sponsors distinguished speakers, conferences, symposia, and interdisciplinary-research groups. The center’s activities celebrate diversity in scholarship with an emphasis on the liberal arts.

The Taft Center is consistently one of the top-funded humanities research centers in the nation, and boasts an expansive range of research that is comparable to work performed at elite institutions.
