CBTS Partners with University of Cincinnati to Enhance Student Opportunities
CBTS, a leading technology solutions provider, signed a multi-faceted collaboration agreement with the University of Cincinnatis College of Education, Criminal Justice and Human Services (CECH), enabling the two entities to provide a world-class educational experience for students pursuing a degree in information technology.
In a ceremonial signing at CBTSs offices in Norwood on Friday, Oct. 4, Vice President of Technical Operations at CBTS Dave Burns, and UC CECH Dean Lawrence J. Johnson established a relationship to contribute to the ever-changing world of information technology, effective immediately.
This agreement exemplifies UCs goals of building key partnerships to support the broader community and to provide our students and our faculty with 21st century learning experiences, says Johnson.
The partnership will give students expanded access to CBTS laboratories, innovative technologies and executive IT professionals. CBTS employees and UC faculty will collaborate to develop improved curriculums based on trending topics in the IT industry.
David Tromblay, a senior in the UC IT program, says the agreement will continue to build on UCs tradition of providing real-world experiences for students. Having the opportunity to work with IT professionals from local businesses will add more depth to our courses that will benefit us beyond the textbook, says Tromblay.
Equally, the relationship will give CBTS employees valuable exposure to the universitys classrooms, providing expanded opportunities to interact with students and contribute to building a strong future talent base.
At CBTS, we understand that having hands-on experience directly correlates to a successful education in the information technology field, said John Burns, president and general manager of CBTS. We hope this partnership will continue to expand over time to connect the different disciplines in the college with other community projects CBTS is involved in.
