Cardinal Solutions Partners with University of Cincinnati to Bring Industry Experience to Campus
Cardinal Solutions, a national IT solutions provider with headquarters in Cincinnati, signed an agreement with the University of Cincinnatis Department of Information Technology on Monday, Oct. 21.
In a ceremonial signing at Cardinal Solutions office in Kenwood, Kelly Conway, president of Cardinal Solutions, and Hazem Said, department head of the Department of Information Technology, committed to an ongoing effort to collaborate on information technology initiatives.
Our partnership with Cardinal Solutions will provide channels for exchanging ideas and experiences while enriching research and innovation at the College, said Dean of UCs College of Education, Criminal Justice, and Human Services Lawrence Johnson. The penetration of mobile devices, such as iPads and smart phones, in all sectors of our community has changed how we learn and communicate. We are fortunate to be at the forefront with our new partner, exploring new ways to harness these evolving technologies.
Cardinal Solutions will leverage its extensive experience in technology solutions including mobile application development, user experience and custom application development to help bring real world experience to the students. The goal is to help effect curriculum in a manner to drive productivity of students when they graduate and enter the workforce.
Cardinal's expertise in user experience, agile development, mobile and enterprise software solutions and integrations offers unique opportunities for students, like me, in the IT program, said Andrew Lively, BSIT 17. My interest in mobile development has grown since I joined the program last year, and I am excited to see the IT program partner with a distinguished organization like Cardinal Solutions.
The partnership will help Cardinal Solutions interact with the talented pool of students. As the IT industry job landscape continues to be more and more competitive, Cardinal will get to know students from a recruiting perspective and ensure the students are prepared to enter the job force.
We are very excited about this partnership with UC. Giving students an opportunity to learn about and to work with the latest technologies to solve realistic business problems is a win-win idea, said President of Cardinal Solutions Kelly Conway. The students will get a more real world ready academic experience and potential employers will get a much needed stream of hit the ground running IT talent. The fact that we have this relationship with UC right in our own backyard is an added plus. Criminal Justice expert J.Z. Bennett interviewed by Fox 19 for his expertise on the relationship between rising temperatures and rise in crime. Bennett says there is no single cause to point to for the rise in crime during a heat wave, but that youth involvement in crime might be due to peer pressure and lack of supervision.
