UC's Carl H. Lindner College of Business to Launch Online Version of Nationally Acclaimed MBA Program in January 2014

Adding to a growing repertoire of online offerings, the Carl H. Lindner College of Business will launch an online MBA, beginning January 2014.

“The online MBA will feature the same entry and degree requirements as our ‘traditional’ program and will be a perfect complement to our current campus programs,” says BJ Zirger, associate dean of online programs at the Lindner College of Business. “The online program will also magnify the student diversity experience by increasing access to our programs from a wider student base.”

In January 2014, professionals around the country will have access to Lindner’s acclaimed MBA program as a 100 percent online version of the program launches. U.S. News & World Report ranked the MBA program at the Lindner College of Business as one of the country’s Top 10 programs for Financial Value Upon Graduation in 2012. The Lindner MBA program was also recently ranked once again as one of the nation’s Top 100 programs by U.S. News & World Report.

Initially the online MBA will launch as a part-time program with the same degree requirements that can be completed within two years’ time and, in the near future, Lindner plans to launch a full-time online MBA option. Applicants can choose from multiple start dates a year, with upcoming 2014 start dates of Jan. 6, Feb. 24 and May 12 (application deadlines: Dec. 2, Jan. 20 and April 7).

Similar to the campus version, the online MBA will offer the same rigorous academic curriculum taught by the same renowned faculty with real hands-on learning and opportunities to study abroad, engage with corporate partners and obtain career services to connect with top employers.

To meet the ever-growing demand for online programs and courses, the Lindner College of Business has launched several new online initiatives in the last three years. The college launched its first 100 percent online degree, a Master of Science in Taxation, in the fall of 2012. The college also partners with the College of Allied Health Sciences in an online Master of Health Administration and a Master of Health Informatics.

Lindner recently launched its revolutionary Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) Innovation in Design Thinking. The free course drew more than 2,000 participants from more than 50 countries around the world. The course is co-sponsored and co-taught by faculty at Lindner and the UC College of Engineering and Applied Science (CEAS). Participants can earn two free credits by completing and enrolling in the MBA program at Lindner or in the Master of Engineering program at CEAS.
