Basketball Court Made Over in 90 Seconds
UC Creative Services offered a sneak peek at the 2012-13 home basketball court in this 90-second time-lapse video. Ed Jucker Court was assembled, sanded and repainted inside the Old Armory Fieldhouse during summer 2012. UC fans can now see the refurbished court inside Fifth Third Arena in Shoemaker Center.

Sara Spins: Where Theres a Wheel, Theres a Way
Hilly campus or not, Sara Whitestone won't allow her need for a wheelchair to prevent her from attending the University of Cincinnati. She started at UC on Aug. 27, 2012, in biological sciences. Sara's goal is to chase down a cure for her disease, Myalgic Encephalomyelitis, and she is convinced UC is the place to do it. Friends and family started a nonprofit to purchase a $12,000 motor-assisted wheelchair so she could get around campus. Now that Sara has her new chair and made it to UC, her nonprofit organization, called Sara Spins, is raising funds to help others who are disabled pursue their higher education dream. Visit

CCM congratulates Erin Alcorn (DMA Voice ‘25) for her recent first place win at UC’s GradNEXT Competition, a Shark Tank-style event where UC students pitch their ideas for how the university can reshape graduate education. In addition to her first place win, Alcorn took home the Audience Choice Prize, and will receive funding support for her dissertation project: the UC ARIA Initiative, incorporating virtual reality into art song performance.
